Pirating is no good thing, no matter from which angle you look at it. However, I also think it is very important to actually try to understand what makes people prefer to pirate stuff especially movies. From nonsensical and unreasonably restrictive schemes like Digital Rights Restriction to needless commercials, I think the image below does a great job of summarizing why people would rather to pirate than buy.
